Friday, October 16th, 2009Legare Farms welcomes everyone to their annual “Amazin’ Maze in Maize” and Pumpkin Patch, to be held October 3rd until October 31st. The maze is packed with family oriented activities and they can’t wait to see you at their farm! Please come out to Johns Island and visit a family owned and operated, working farm.
Pick your own pumpkin, take a scenic hayride, make your own scarecrow, balloon launch, plus many, many more activities!
Last, but certainly not least….. “Amazin’ Maze in Maize”. They have cultivated a unique problem solving opportunity the likes of which Charleston has never seen! The maze is 7 Acres, 3 miles of paths of twists and turns, and 5 bridges, guaranteed to stump even the best of folks which is why we dare you to come out and give it a go. Don’t worry folks, they haven’t lost anyone …yet!
Don’t forget to bring your kiddie wagons and cameras. Take advantage of all the photo opportunities on the farm.
For an even more challenging course, try ” Amazin’ Maze in Maize” by moonlight! This is the most challenging corn maze in the Charleston area!
HAUNTED HAYRIDES!
October 23rd & 24th – Starting at 8pm, the hayride becomes “haunted”. Tickets for the haunted hayride can be purchased at the concession stand for $5.00 per person/per ride/no exceptions.

Directions:
From Folly Rd.: (171) to Maybank Hwy (by Piggly Wiggly) cross new Stono River bridge towards Johns Island. At the first stop light turn left on to River Rd., towards the Charleston Executive Airport. Drive exactly 5 miles and take a left at the big Jack O Lantern onto Jenkins Farm Rd. Follow the signs to best fun you’ve had in a long time. (Total distance is ten miles and takes about 20 minutes)
From Highway 17 (Savannah Hwy.): Turn onto Main Road at the Johns Island, Kiawah,& Seabrook exit (by Burger King). Cross the new Limehouse Bridge onto Johns Island. At the first traffic light turn left onto River Road. Go 5 miles to the traffic light at Maybank Hwy. Continue straight on River Road for another 5 miles and take a left at the big Jack O Lantern onto Jenkins Farm Road. Follow the signs to the main gate and the most fun you’ve had in a long time. (Total distance is 15 miles and takes about 25 minutes)

Your free charter is a complete experience! Choose from a full menu of fly rods, artificial and live bait fishing options with charters tailored to your desires. Capt. Geoff Bennett’s 16 ft. Hewes Bayfisher boat can accommodate up to three anglers. All equipment, fishing licenses, soft drinks and snacks are provided and premium tackle from G.Loomis, Ross Reels, Sage and Shimano is aboard.
