The queens have been very busy getting themselves ready to represent Edisto Beach at each of their state pageants.
Kristin will be competing in the Miss South Carolina USA Pageant on November 20 and 21 in North Charleston. If she should be lucky enough to win, she will go to the Miss Teen USA Pageant.

Jade, Miss Edisto will compete in March at te Miss South Carolina United States Pageant. I she should be lucky enough to win, she will represent the state in the national pageant to be held in Las Vegas. Presently Jade has taken on Child Abuse Prevention, specifically Shaken Baby Syndrome as her platfor that is required by the state pageant. In preparation she will be speaking to local organizations, etc. spreading her message. She has some very special projects in mind to help in her challenge to inform people about this horrible thing that can happen. She will also be bringinh her message to schools, churches, and Exchange Clubs throughout te state and will also be performing at many events.

Kristin recently took part in te "Pink Heals Tour" held recently in the area. She helped to raise thousands of dollars for Cancer Research and was instrumental in getting many survivors to sign the huge pink truck. For more information on this organization go to www.pinkheals.com.

Up Coming Events:

Both girls will be riding in the Edisto Beach Christmas Parade on November 28. Please come out to say hello to the girls.

They will also be riding with other queens from the area in the annual Charleston Christmas Parade on Dec. 6. We are searching for sponsors to help pay for the cost of renting the float which runs about $300. If you would like to be a sponsor, contact Don at 843-343-2560. Your name or company name will appear on the float.

The girlss will be attending the annual Chitlin Festival in Salley SC next weekend representing Edisto Beach.

Kristin will be competing at the Miss SC USA Pageant in North Charleston on November 20 and 21 representing her title. Tickets are available at ticketmasters if you would like to go.

We would like to thank Mr. Robert Hart of Edisto Beach.com or giving us this opportunity to share our experience with you. We encourage each of you to please contact us on this blog.

I have been aware of this organization since its inception and have even judged this event before and am proud to say that it is a good thing for all concerned. These girls do lots of charity work and help out in numerou s ways throughout the entire community as wellas act as an ambassador for the area. As an elected official this kind of activity makes a positive note in the community. Everyone loves a pretty girl in a shiney hat.
