Christmas Shopping on King Street
If youve got more Christmas shopping to do, head to Charleston immediately.
Christmas on King Street is currently underway and will last until New Years Day. This street is famous for its high-end retail stores and the unique Charleston experience that it offers. In addition, stores and restaurants in the City Market and Charleston Place Shops will be open.
Throughout this celebratory time, many stores will be offering deep discounts and specials so that you can enjoy yourself in the city and save your bank account from total annihilation.
Stop in at Candlefish for their holiday pop-up sale until December 20. Grab TInk & TIgers fashionable art themed pajamas or any of their other fun, unique items. When you finish picking up your last few gifts you can stop in Belgian Gelato for a treat. They are offering new lower pricing for the holidays. You can get a Brussels Waffle for just $2.50 and get some of their delicious gelato for just an additional $1.00.
If youve never explored King Street, it is divided up into three areas which include the Upper King Street Design and Dining District, the King Street Fashion District, and the Lower King Street Antiques District. This means no matter what youre shopping for, youre likely to find it in the many art galleries, antique stores, book stores, childrens clothing stores, home décor shops, high-end fashion boutiques, and everything else in between.
Whats great about King Street is that its close to city parking garages so you dont have to worry about on the street parking or walking for miles just to get to the street itself.
Once youre finished shopping all along King Street, venture off to some of the side streets and take in even more of what the city has to offer. You could also get back in the car and head out to Mount Pleasant or the Citadel Mall for a more traditional shopping experience.
Not interested in shopping? Head to Charleston anyway and explore the nearby area while your friends and family shop. From King Street, you can access the historic battery and waterfront park. Head out on a ferry over to Fort Sumter or explore one of the many pre and post antebellum homesteads. Prefer to sit in a bar and sip on a beer while watching a game? Charleston offers that, too.
The best thing about Charleston is that its unique blend of old and new means it has something for everyone.
