Sunny at the Beach Snow Cones

sunny_at_the_beach_snow_conesThere are few things as perfect as spending the day at the beach, eating out on the deck of a beach house, and then cooling off under the branches of an old oak tree with a snowcone.

One of Edisto Island’s newest businesses, Sunny at the Beach, LLC, is a throwback to simpler times. It’s a simple snowcone stand on Jungle Road right next to the only shopping center on the beach.

All summer long customers can walk or ride up to the stand via car, bike, or golf cart and place an order. The cones are served directly out of the window, so there’s no need to bother with getting out of beach clothes or even wearing shoes when you visit this establishment. The snowcones can be eaten while sitting at the picnic benches on the premises, although many like to eat them while playing cornhole in the yard.

There are several flavors offered, although blue raspberry is by far the most popular. Also, forget the traditional triangle cup that comes to mind when snowcone are mentioned. Sunny at the Beach serves the brain-freezing delights in 12-ounce cups with a heaping mound of flavored shaved ice on top.

Along with snowcones, Sunny at the Beach also provides bottled water and bags of ice. In addition to the frozen treats, Sunny at the Beach also offers rental home cleaning. The cleaning service includes everything from taking out the trash to cleaning the floors to making the beds and returning the rental keys to the rental agency.

Sunny at the Beach is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 12-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday, Sunday and holiday hours vary. Contact Sunny at the Beach for more information or rental house cleaning rates at SunnyAtBeach@gmail.com.
