Weather Report: June 16, 2012
After what seemed like endless rain, the forecast for Edisto Beach is finally calling for ample sun.
Today the high should be in the low 80s with plenty of sun. This will continue into Sunday. There is a very small chance for rain and should it actually come to fruition, expect nothing more than a quick sprinkle.
The temperature will warm slightly on Monday and continue until Thursday when it warms up to 85 degrees. By Friday the high is forecast to be in the upper 80s and there is a small chance of some afternoon thunderstorms, which is standard for this time of year. Generally the storms blow in and out quickly so they don’t muck up the day too much.
The lows throughout the week will be in the mid-to low-70s and the humidity should be relatively low.
Be sure to get out to the beach, hit up the bike trail, and take in some sunsets during this week of summer sun. Or check out some of the local fishing charter, ecotour, and historical tour companies on the island to find out all sorts of things about the island and waterways.
If you’re in the area today and looking to do something a little different, Animal Lovers of Edisto will be out in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot by the snow cone stand with some adoptable dogs. Locals and visitors are always welcome to come out and give some homeless dogs some affection. Donations are always needed as well and a donation jar will be present. Find out everything you need to know about the stray dogs on Edisto Island and what you can do to help.
You might also decide to get the ultimate souvenir and bring a dog home with you!
