Weather Report: May 19, 2012
After somewhat cool weather last week, this week looks like it will be warmer, but cloudy.
The high for today is 78 degrees with a 20 percent chance of rain. The sun might peak out from time to time, but overall there will be more clouds than sun on Edisto Beach.
The clouds will stick around Sunday when the chance for rain goes up and the high temperature for the day goes down to 77 degrees.
By the time Monday rolls around, there could be some isolated thunderstorms in the area, but many times these just amount to some thundering off in the distance and flashes of lightning. But if you’re out on the water, then you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on the sky so that you don’t get stuck in a storm.
The temperatures will slowly climb out of the high 70s and into the low 80s before becoming perfectly sunny on Thursday with a high of 84.
The sun and higher temperatures will hold steady for Memorial Day weekend so be sure to make it a point to get to Edisto mid-week and hang out for awhile and enjoy the unofficial start to summer.
Want to do something new while you’re in the area this week? Try going out to the arts and crafts market at Bay Creek Park near the marina. The arts and crafts market is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. Many times local and regional artists are present selling handmade crafts and artwork, all of which features a lowcountry flare.
